Tast 2012 | Wheatear stitch | week 17

Ceia
Depois do ar, a comida!  E continuamos submersos...

| And you want to eat what?

Supper
After the air, we need food!  Still submerged ...
This week we begin the study of the composite stitches. As the name says, new stitch formed by two or more simple ones. Wheatear is the name of this. Created from the join of a one chain stitch and two backstitches. Can be used as an outline - in-sequence- or individually, taking the form of a "bull's head."

  4. Greta use of this stitch, Luiz. It's fun you mention this stitch looking like a bull's head, in Dutch this stitch is called ossenkopsteek (ox head stitch)!

  7. Are some of the underwater scenes embroidered over printed fabric? I have a wonderful photo from Maui of a turtle, within an aquarium, reflected are palm trees. The image appears to be a turtle in the trees... If you wish to print it on cloth and enhace it, it shall be sent as JPeg.. ~~Sandra ♥
